Fire Trucks

Engine 11  is a 2001 Freightliner/E- one pumper housed at Station 2 on the Hallowell-Litchfield Rd. The Pump is a 1250 gallons per minute (GPM) with a 1000 gallon tank and equipped with a foam system. This truck carries all the equipment that NFPA requires for a pumper including: Ground ladders, supply and attack hose, 4 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Traffic Control equipment, hand tools, Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC), Multi gas meter, Chain saw, small generator, ground lights, and a box fan.

 Engine 12 is a 2017 HME pumper and is housed in station 1. It has a 1250 GPM pump, 1060 gallons of water and a foam system. Engine 12  carries all the equipment that NFPA requires for a pumper including: Ground ladders, supply and attack hose, 4 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Traffic Control equipment, hand tools, Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC), Multi gas meter, Chain saw, roof vent saw, small generator, ground lights, fan, a “combi” tool (mini jaws/spreader) for quick use at motor vehicle crashes and carries basic first aid equipment and an Automatic External Defibrillator(AED).

 Squad 1 aka “the tool box” is a used 1990 Saulsbury Heavy rescue truck housed at station 1 on Maine Ave. Unlike the pumpers, the Squad has no pump, hose or water tank, but carries numerous items to support firefighting activities at most any incident. This unit has a 19K generator that supports a light tower, numerous ground lighting, a communications unit in the walk in box, The squad carries and extensive amount of equipment to stabilize vehicles at crash scenes, carries a large set of Jaws and a large cutter and many other tools for accidents. This unit also carries traffic control equipment, cut off saw, roof/chainsaw, water rescue equipment, low angle ropes/harnesses and hardware, salvage equipment, forest fire equipment, Rapid Intervention Kit (RIT), an extensive variety of forcible entry tools, gas metering equipment, basic first aid kit,  a full set-up of fire scene Rehabilitation equipment and a 6 bottle cascade system with a double fill station to support refilling of SCBA cylinders at fire scenes. Due to the large amount of  tools and equipment on the “squad” we can respond to most any incident anywhere we are called, step off and perform most any assignment. On occasions, the Squad has responded to other counties to provide assistance.

 Bulldog 1 aka the “Bulldog” is a used 2007 Yamaha Rhino Universal Terrain Vehicle (UTV)  which we recently purchased to assist with incidents that are off road, like the rail trail, snowmobile trails, and even on the trail system on the Vaughan Estate (hobbit land). The Bulldog has tracks and allows use to use it both winter and summer and can support incidents like wildland fires, wilderness rescue and potential ice rescue situations. Recently 10 members of the department took a certified professional UTV class by Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, additionally supported with equipment by Maine Fire Training Institute.
