MESSAGE from Constable

The Farmingdale Police Dept. / Constable Service is available as much as possible, but please keep in mind that the department is part-time and that all members of the department have other full-time employment elsewhere.  A Constable is out performing security checks of properties in Farmingdale on a nightly basis.  The Constables are out at varied times depending on the individual Constable’s schedule permits.  There is no set times or routine that the Constables follow while out on patrol.  Please feel free to contact us if your property is going to be vacant for any amount of time or you plan to be away. 

Please keep in mind that if you have an emergency, the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office or the Maine State Police are your primary law enforcement agencies in Farmingdale.  Both the Sheriff’s Office and State Police can be reached by dialing 911 in an emergency or in a non-emergency by calling 207-624-7076. 

If you see something, say something!  Often times people will not call the police if they see something out of place or something suspicious.  Please don’t hesitate to report any and all suspicious activity to law enforcement as soon as you can.  By reporting something that doesn’t seem important to you, may lead police to solve crimes or better yet, prevent crimes from occurring to begin with. 

Just as a reminder, all dog licensing is due by December 31^st each year.  Any and all dogs licensed after January 31^st will be subject to a late fee of $25 that is required by state law.  The only exceptions to this are dogs that are under the age of 6 months or dogs that have been newly acquired, all other dogs will be subject to the $25 late fee.  All dogs, rather inside or outside, rather they leave your property or not, that have obtained the age of 6 months, are required to be licensed by state law.
